Toledo, Ohio - Toledo football has achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Mid-American Conference championship last season, marking their first title since 2017. And now, the Rockets have the opportunity to make it two in a row.
In a thrilling 49-23 victory over Eastern Michigan, UT secured the MAC West title, earning their place in the conference title game. This achievement puts them in a position to potentially win consecutive conference championships, a feat they haven't accomplished since their three-peat from 1969-1971.
The team's success under head coach Jason Candle has been evident, with last year's victory over Ohio University leading to his second conference crown. The Rockets then went on to clinch a win against Liberty in the Boca Raton Bowl, solidifying their status as a bowl-eligible team this season.
Looking ahead, the MAC championship game is scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd at Ford Field in Detroit, with a noon kickoff. But before that, UT will wrap up their regular season with road games against Bowling Green in the Battle of I-75 and Central Michigan.
