Jonathan Majors audio clip Grace Jabbari domestic violence trial viral
Marvel actor Jonathan Majors' domestic violence trial has new evidence, including audio of him telling his ex to act like Michelle Obama.
Marvel actor Jonathan Majors is currently on trial for domestic violence, and recent evidence has been introduced in court. This evidence includes an audio recording of an argument between Majors and his accuser and former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In the recording, Majors tells Jabbari that she needs to be supportive of him and act more like Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King Jr.'s wife, and Michelle Obama, Barack Obama's wife. This has sparked controversy online, with some people criticizing Majors for demanding that Jabbari behave like prominent Black women.
The trial stems from a domestic abuse complaint filed by Jabbari after Majors allegedly assaulted her in March 2023. The new evidence includes text messages in which Majors threatened to kill himself if Jabbari went to the hospital to treat her injuries. Photos of Jabbari's injuries, including a bruised and fractured finger, and security camera footage from the alleged assault site have also been released.
Judge Michael Gaffey recently rejected a motion filed by Majors' lawyers to dismiss the charges, stating that the prosecution has sufficient evidence to prove the assault and harassment allegations. Majors is currently facing three misdemeanor charges and has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he could face a prison sentence of over a year.
