Jonathan Majors: Actor Loses Lucrative Deals After Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend
Rising Hollywood star Jonathan Majors loses major deals after assault conviction, including roles in Marvel and Disney, and MLB endorsements.
Jonathan Majors, a 34-year-old American actor, has experienced a significant downturn in his career following allegations of assault against his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in March 2023. Majors, who was rising to stardom after roles in Creed III, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and Loki, as well as potential opportunities in the biopic Otis and Zelma, has faced a series of setbacks since being found guilty of assault and aggravated harassment in a Manhattan court.
As a result of the conviction, Disney and Marvel have announced that they will no longer work with Majors, leading to the loss of major endorsement deals with the US Army and MLB's Texas Rangers. Additionally, he was dropped by his talent agency, Entertainment 360, and his public relations team at the Lede Company. Majors also missed out on a guest appearance at the Met Gala and was cut from an advertising deal with the Texas Rangers. His role in The Man in My Basement has been recast, and he is no longer in consideration for the Otis Redding biopic.
Furthermore, Majors' film Magazine Dreams, which was set to open in theaters, was removed from the release calendar by Disney-owned distributor Searchlight Pictures. His role as the antagonist Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has also been affected, with his future appearances in the franchise in question.
Despite his rising stardom, Majors has faced significant professional consequences as a result of the assault conviction. His sentencing is scheduled for February 6, with a potential jail term of up to a year. These developments have had a substantial impact on Majors' career and public image, signaling a significant downturn in his professional prospects.
