Iowa's women's basketball team, ranked No. 4, secured a decisive 98-69 victory over Loyola-Chicago at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, bringing their record to 12-1 and concluding the non-conference play for the season.

In a strategic move, Iowa head coach Lisa Bluder changed up her starting lineup, introducing forward Hannah Stuelke and guard Sydney Affolter in place of center Sharon Goodman and guard Gabbie Marshall, who was out due to illness. Affolter made a significant impact, filling in for Marshall and contributing six offensive rebounds.

The star of the game was Caitlin Clark, who delivered a triple-double performance with 35 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists. The team also saw impressive scoring from Stuelke, who scored 20 points, and Kate Martin, who contributed 19 points.

Despite their victory, the Hawkeyes struggled with turnovers, committing 17 turnovers on 18 assists. The game was closely contested in the first half, with Loyola-Chicago keeping the score within 10 points, but the Hawkeyes managed to pull away in the second half.

The Hawkeyes will now enjoy a brief break for the holidays before returning to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on December 30th to face Minnesota as they resume their Big Ten schedule for the remainder of the regular season.
