Renowned actor Kamar de los Reyes, known for his roles in "One Life to Live" and "Call of Duty: Black Ops II," has passed away at the age of 56 after a brief battle with cancer. His wife, Sherri Saum, confirmed the news in a statement.
De los Reyes was best known for his role as Antonio Vega in "One Life to Live," where he played a former gang member who became a lawyer and then a cop. He also portrayed the villain Raul Menendez in the popular video game "Call of Duty: Black Ops II." Additionally, he had roles in various television shows and movies, including "Sleepy Hollow," "The Rookie," and "All American."
At the time of his passing, de los Reyes was filming "All American" and had recently shot roles in Marvel's upcoming "Daredevil" series and Hulu's "Washington Black," starring Sterling K. Brown.
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Las Vegas, de los Reyes developed a passion for acting when he moved to Los Angeles in the late '80s. His early career included roles in off-Broadway plays and Shakespeare in the Park productions. He also appeared in several films, including "Nixon," "Salt," and "The Cell."
Despite living in Los Angeles, de los Reyes remained connected to his Puerto Rican roots and was actively involved in the recovery efforts after Hurricane Maria in 2017.
He is survived by his wife Saum and three sons, Caylen, 26, and twins Michael and John, age 9. His legacy will live on through his impactful contributions to the entertainment industry.
