Drummond DeRozan Bulls hold off Hawks 118-113
Drummond, DeRozan lead Bulls to 118-113 win over Hawks. DeRozan scored 25 points and Drummond had 24 points and 25 rebounds.
The Chicago Bulls had an impressive win on Tuesday night, with Andre Drummond leading the way with 24 points and 25 rebounds in his first start of the season. DeMar DeRozan also had a strong performance, scoring 25 points. The Bulls were able to cool off Atlanta's Trae Young, who finished with 21 points and 13 assists after tying Oscar Robertson's record of seven consecutive games with at least 30 points and 10 assists.
The Bulls were missing key players Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, but still managed to secure the win. DeRozan scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, helping Chicago come away with the victory.
Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu also had strong performances, each scoring 19 points. Despite White missing all seven 3-pointers, the Bulls were able to make enough shots to bounce back from a previous loss.
The game was tied at 106-all when Alex Caruso nailed a 3-pointer, giving the Bulls the lead. DeRozan then hit a 14-footer with 1:42 left to further secure the win.
However, the Bulls could be facing challenges with both Vucevic and LaVine sidelined due to injuries. Coach Billy Donovan was unsure how long Vucevic will be out, as he had an MRI on Tuesday. LaVine, on the other hand, has started doing some light cutting.
In their next games, the Hawks will host Sacramento on Friday, while the Bulls will host Indiana on Thursday.
