Kathy Griffin Divorce Randy Bick Before Anniversary Sucks
Comedian Kathy Griffin files for divorce from husband Randy Bick, citing "irreconcilable differences" four days before their four year anniversary.
Comedian Kathy Griffin has filed for divorce from her husband Randy Bick just four days before their four-year anniversary. The reason cited for the divorce is "irreconcilable differences," according to court documents obtained by TheWrap. The news was first reported by TMZ, and Griffin posted her feelings on both Twitter and Instagram, expressing her disappointment.
The couple got married on New Year's Day in 2020, with the wedding ceremony being officiated by Lily Tomlin shortly after Griffin announced their engagement. Although they began dating in 2011, they split up in November 2018 but reconciled in April 2019. In the divorce paperwork, the 63-year-old comedian and "Fashion Police" alumna requested that the court enforce the premarital agreement dated 12/23/2019.
Griffin is known for her sharp style of comedy and her show "My Life on the D List." In 2023, she revealed that she suffered from an "extreme case" of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which she believes began in 2017 after she posted a controversial photo of herself holding a mask of Donald Trump covered in ketchup to simulate blood, resembling a severed head. This photo led to heavy backlash, with Griffin initially taking it down but then reposting it when Trump falsely declared victory in the 2020 presidential election.
The original photo resulted in Griffin being fired from CNN's "New Year's Eve" coverage and condemned by her co-host Anderson Cooper. She also revealed that the Secret Service investigated her and she was placed on a no-fly list. Despite initially apologizing for the photo, she has since withdrawn her apology, referring to it as a "mistake."
