Bronny James first technical foul: LeBron James son whistled trash talk USC loses UCLA
Bronny James receives first career technical foul in USC's loss to UCLA, despite recent health scare and minutes restriction.
Bronny James, a freshman at USC and the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, received his first career technical foul during a game against UCLA. The incident occurred when he blocked Dylan Andrews' shot and then proceeded to yell at the Bruins guard. As a result, James was given a technical and had to go to the bench. Despite this, he finished the game with two points and four rebounds in 15 minutes of play during a 65-50 loss to UCLA.
The Trojans have been struggling, losing their last five games and currently sitting in last place in the Pac-12 standings with a 2-7 conference record. Their season started off well with a 5-2 record, but they have since lost four of their last 15 games, including a loss against Gonzaga on Dec. 2.
James faced a health scare over the summer, going into cardiac arrest during a preseason workout in late July. This led to him missing the first eight games of the season before returning against Long Beach State on Dec. 10. His minutes restriction was lifted earlier this month, and he made the first start of his college career against Colorado. He also had a standout game against Arizona, scoring 11 points and adding six assists and five rebounds.
One of the highlights of James' young career came in the second and third conference games of the season, where he scored 15 points in a loss to Oregon State and followed it up with 10 points and three assists in a win over Cal.
Looking ahead, USC will start the second half of Pac-12 conference play at home against Oregon on Feb. 1. Overall, James' journey at USC has had its ups and downs, but he has shown potential and resilience in the face of adversity.
