Ravens TE Mark Andrews, CB Marlon Humphrey Active for AFC Championship Game vs. Chiefs
The Ravens are ready to play the AFC championship game at home, healthy and with key players activated from injury.
The Baltimore Ravens are gearing up for their first AFC championship game at home, and they're doing so with a relatively healthy roster. Tight end Mark Andrews, who recently returned from an ankle surgery that had him on injured reserve since November, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who has been out with a calf injury since Week 17, are both active for the 3 p.m. showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, the Ravens will be without wide receiver Tylan Wallace and linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips, who are both inactive due to knee and shoulder injuries, respectively. To fill their roles on special teams, the Ravens have elevated recently signed receiver Dan Chisena and inside linebacker Josh Ross from their practice squad.
In addition to Wallace and Phillips, the Ravens' other inactives include cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, guard Sala Aumavae-Laulu, center Sam Mustipher, and quarterbacks Malik Cunningham and Josh Johnson, who will serve as Baltimore's third/emergency quarterback.
On the other side, the Chiefs are also dealing with some key absences. All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi have been ruled out due to pectoral and triceps injuries, respectively. Linebacker Willie Gay is also inactive due to a neck injury.
The Chiefs are also missing wide receivers Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney, who are out with knee and hip injuries, respectively. Toney, who recently became a father and claims the Chiefs are lying about his injury, expressed his frustration in an expletive-filled rant on Instagram.
The Chiefs' other inactives include cornerbacks Keith Taylor and Ekow Boye-Doe, defensive ends BJ Thompson and Felix Anudike-Uzomah. Despite these absences, both teams are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting and competitive matchup.
