Fani Willis Father Threats Prevent Knowing Lives

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has moved four times due to threats against her life. Her father testified against Trump.

Fani Willis, the District Attorney of Fulton County, has been the target of numerous threats to her life over the past three years, leading her to move several times. Her father, John Floyd III, revealed that he intentionally did not learn where his daughter moved to in order to protect her. He only sees her on occasion now, fearing for her safety due to the threats she has received. Floyd shared his testimony as part of the case Willis brought against former President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants, accusing them of interfering with Georgia's 2020 presidential election results. Some of the defendants' attorneys have accused her of corruption, leading to a hearing to determine her fitness to prosecute the case.

In January, it was revealed that Willis was romantically involved with one of the outside attorneys she hired for the case. She asserts that the relationship did not present a conflict of interest. Willis was sworn in as district attorney on Jan. 1, 2021, and threats to her safety began the next month. A group of people yelled outside her house in the early morning hours, prompting Floyd to fear for her safety. The threats escalated, with individuals making death threats and vandalizing her house with racist slurs. Police even brought bomb-sniffing dogs to patrol the premises.

Willis moved out within weeks, but Floyd stayed behind to protect the house. He notified the neighbors to watch out and called the police to report the incidents. The threatening incidents continued, causing significant distress to both Willis and her family. The situation has been described as "very hard" by Floyd, who has only seen his daughter on 13 occasions since she had to move. The threats and harassment have taken a toll on her personal life and safety. The judge overseeing the case is expected to weigh in on Willis' fitness to prosecute, given the accusations against her and the personal threats she has faced. The situation is complex and troubling, and the safety of Willis and her family is of paramount concern.
