The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Episode 1 Review - Rick Michonne Return Lackluster Series Premiere
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premiere leaves fans divided. Rick's fate and Michonne's return are the highlights.
I'm not sure if I'm sold on The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live just yet. After watching the season premiere, I'm still on the fence. The episode was heavy on voice-over and exposition, which left me feeling a bit letdown. It spent a lot of time catching us up on Rick's role in the CRM and his repeated attempts to escape. The CRM's strategy to kill the A's and recruit the B's was an interesting twist, but it felt like a missed opportunity for a better long-term survival strategy. Despite this, the episode had some gripping moments, such as Okafor's intense brawl with Rick and the scene with Rick and Major General Beale. The ending, with Michonne shooting down the helicopter, was exciting, but the heavy narration throughout the episode was a bit of a letdown. The episode could have been structured in a more exciting way, and the Gimple-speak dialogue felt stilted at times. Overall, it was a decent start, but I'm not fully convinced just yet. I'm still keeping an open mind and looking forward to seeing how the series unfolds.
