Tuckerton man charged with unsuccessful robberies Egg Harbor Township 7-Eleven
Tuckerton man charged after two failed robberies in Egg Harbor Township, claiming to have a gun. No weapon found.
A Tuckerton man, Mark Stackhouse, was charged with two counts of robbery after two unsuccessful attempts on Saturday night where he claimed to have a gun, according to police in Egg Harbor Township. The incidents occurred at a 7-Eleven and a nearby Wawa on Tilton Road.
Police responded to the 7-Eleven after receiving a report of an armed robbery attempt. Stackhouse then fled to the Wawa where he was apprehended. It was revealed that Stackhouse entered the 7-Eleven, informed the cashier he had a gun in his pocket, and threatened to shoot her if she did not hand over money. The cashier refused, and Stackhouse left the store.
Outside, Stackhouse tried to rob a person in the parking lot using the same method, but was unsuccessful once again. Despite his claims, Stackhouse was not found to be in possession of a weapon.
Stackhouse is currently being held in the Atlantic County jail. For more information, contact John Russo at [email protected] or follow him on Twitter at @ACPress_Russo.
