Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was involved in a mass shooting at a nightclub but sustained minor injuries and is recovering.

On December 31, 2023, in Houston, Texas, Tank Dell, a wide receiver for the Houston Texans, found himself in a terrifying situation. While at a nightclub in Florida on April 28, 2024, a mass shooting occurred, causing minor injuries to Dell. The incident took place at the Cabana Live nightclub in Sanford, Florida, during a private party. Reports suggest that a 16-year-old male opened fire after a verbal altercation escalated.

The police quickly responded to the scene, arresting the juvenile responsible for injuring nearly 10 people. He faced charges of illegal possession of a firearm, firing a weapon in a public place, and attempted homicide. Fortunately, no one, including Dell, sustained life-threatening injuries. The rising rookie was taken to the hospital for minor wounds and was released the next day.

Tank Dell, part of the impressive 2023 draft class for the Texans, had been making a name for himself before the incident. With 47 receptions for 709 yards and 7 touchdowns, Dell was on track for a successful rookie season before a broken fibula sidelined him.
