Ric Flair addresses restaurant incident: 'Caught me off guard'
Wrestling legend Ric Flair apologizes for outburst at Florida restaurant, blames bathroom urgency. Incident caught on video, Flair explains on radio.
Ric Flair recently issued an apology for his outburst at a restaurant employee in Florida, where he celebrated his stepdaughter's college graduation at Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza in Gainesville. Surveillance footage captured Flair calling a staff member a derogatory term and challenging him to settle their differences outside.
In a radio interview on "The MJ Morning Show" on Q105 in Tampa, Flair reflected on the incident. He mentioned his 2017 near-death experience, which has changed the way his body functions. Flair hinted that he needed to use the restroom and was frustrated when an employee took too long in there.
Flair admitted that he was wrong for losing his temper but felt he was defending his position. He mentioned that he had a good relationship with the bartenders at the restaurant before the incident. Flair explained that the employee, Nicholas, who was seen in the video, confronted him about his behavior in the bathroom, even though they had not interacted before.
Despite initially stating that he would never return to the restaurant, Flair clarified that he had already ordered delivery from there since the incident. He acknowledged his mistake in reacting angrily and admitted that he should have just walked away. Flair denied being intoxicated during the confrontation, stating that he had only consumed Michelob Ultra beers and possibly two mixed drinks.
Overall, Flair expressed regret for his behavior and emphasized that the incident caught him off guard as he was having a pleasant time with his family. He recognized his error and extended an apology for his actions.
