Keith Richards Rolling Stones debut Hackney Diamonds MetLife Stadium

The Rolling Stones unveil new song "Tell Me Straight" at NYC concert, part of their Hackney Diamonds Tour. Watch here!

The Rolling Stones recently wrapped up a two-show stint at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where they delighted fans with the live debut of "Tell Me Straight," a track from their latest album, Hackney Diamonds.

Hackney Diamonds, released on October 20, 2023, is the band's first album of new material since 2005's A Bigger Bang. It holds special significance as it is the first album released following the passing of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021, who still appears on the album in a posthumous capacity.

The North American leg of The Stones' Hackney Diamonds Tour kicked off in Houston, where they introduced fans to tracks like "Mess It Up," featuring Watts' drumming. The band continued to unveil new songs in the NYC area, including the live premiere of "Tell Me Straight" at MetLife Stadium.

Keith Richards, addressing the crowd before the performance, shared his excitement about playing the new track. With Mick Jagger taking a brief break, Richards and Ronnie Wood took the lead on the Hackney Diamonds deep cut, "Tell Me Straight."

The concert at MetLife Stadium also featured some surprises in the setlist, such as the tour debut of "Bitch" from Sticky Fingers (1971) and the fan-voted "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)" from Goats Head Soup (1973). Mick Jagger even included a snippet of Robert Johnson's "Come In My Kitchen" during a rendition of "Midnight Rambler."

The show concluded with standout tracks from Hackney Diamonds, "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." Fans can relive the entire concert by watching the full show online.

The Rolling Stones will be taking their tour to Gillette Stadium near Boston next, with a performance scheduled for Thursday, May 30. For more information on tour dates and ticket availability, check out The Rolling Stones' official website.
