Israel rescues 4 hostages in Gaza operation, including Noa Argamani
Four Israeli hostages rescued from Hamas in central Gaza raid after being kidnapped at a music festival. Hostages in good health.
Four Israeli hostages were taken by Hamas during a music festival and were successfully rescued in a raid on the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces, Shin Bet, and Israeli police released a joint statement announcing the rescue of 25-year-old Noa Argamani, 21-year-old Almog Meir Jan, 27-year-old Andrey Kozlov, and 40-year-old Shlomi Ziv, who were kidnapped at the Nova music festival.
The hostages were found in two different locations during the operation, and their medical condition was reported as normal. They were taken to the Tel Hashomer Sheba Medical Center for further examination, where family members greeted them.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Israel does not give in to terrorism and will continue to work to rescue all hostages, both alive and deceased. Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant praised the bravery of the IDF, ISA, and Special Forces involved in the operation.
The Hostages Families Forum expressed joy at the successful rescue but urged the Israeli government to fulfill its commitment to bring back all 120 hostages still held by Hamas. IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari described the rescue as a high-risk mission conducted with precise intelligence and intensive training.
Eyewitnesses in Gaza reported violent clashes during the rescue operation, resulting in casualties on both sides. The Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health stated that at least 55 Palestinians were killed, with over 400 injured. Al-Aqsa hospital staff struggled to treat the influx of casualties.
Tragically, one IDF fighter, Commander Arnon Zamora, lost his life during the rescue mission. The conflict in Gaza has resulted in over 36,000 Palestinian deaths since October 7, with Hamas militants attacking Israel and taking hostages. The Israeli operation aimed to rescue those held captive and restore peace to the region.
