The highly anticipated Lollapalooza festival in Chicago made a big announcement on Thursday (June 20) regarding the headlining act for Thursday night (Aug. 1). The Houston Hottie, Megan Thee Stallion, will be taking the stage, replacing Tyler, the Creator who had to pull out of both Lolla and Outside Lands this summer.

The festival took to social media to share the news, stating, "Hot girl summer in Chicago! Unfortunately, Tyler, the Creator will not be able to perform this year. See @theestallion headline Lolla on Thursday, August 1st."

The announcement stirred up a variety of reactions in the comments section of Lollapalooza's Instagram, with some fans expressing disappointment and even questioning the choice of replacement. However, many fans were excited about Megan stepping in as the headliner.

Megan Thee Stallion is currently wrapping up the North American leg of her Hot Girl Summer Tour before heading to Europe for a series of shows in July. She will then return to the U.S. to kick off Lollapalooza on Aug. 1, where she will be showcasing new music from her upcoming album, Megan, set to release on June 28.

Prior to the official announcement from Lollapalooza, Tyler surprised fans by revealing that he had to cancel his appearances at both Lolla and Outside Lands. He expressed his regret and disappointment in having to pull out of the festivals, asking for forgiveness from his fans.

In response to Tyler's cancellation, Outside Lands announced that Sabrina Carpenter would be taking his place at the San Francisco festival on Aug. 10. Following her performance, Carpenter will be embarking on the Short n' Sweet Tour starting in September.
