Dr Disrespect, with over 4.7 million YouTube subscribers, is known for his comedic persona as an obnoxious gamer. In 2021, he co-founded Midnight Society, a gaming studio, alongside Robert Bowling and Quinn DelHoyo. The team announced a new game, Deadrop, set for release in 2022.

Recently, former Twitch staff member Cody Conners accused Dr Disrespect of inappropriate behavior, alleging that he was banned for "sexting a minor" through Twitch's private messaging service and attempting to meet her at TwitchCon. In response to these allegations, Midnight Society decided to part ways with Dr Disrespect, citing their commitment to upholding principles and standards as a studio and individuals.

Dr Disrespect has denied any wrongdoing in relation to the ban, stating that neither he nor Twitch acknowledged any illegal activity leading to the ban. Despite this, the controversy has led to Dr Disrespect announcing a break from streaming, indicating that he had already planned a vacation and may extend his time off. The streamer has not addressed Midnight Society's decision to cut ties with him as of now.
