Xbox Live is experiencing a major outage, causing frustration for thousands of gamers trying to log in and play their favorite games. According to Microsoft's official status page, the issue started around 2 p.m. ET and has resulted in over 38,000 outage reports on Downdetector by 3 p.m. ET.
The problem seems to be affecting a wide range of devices, including Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, mobile devices, web services, cloud gaming, backward compatibility, and Xbox on Windows. While some users have reported being able to eventually sign in, many are still facing sign-in issues and disruptions while playing.
Microsoft has not provided an explanation for the outage but is actively investigating the issue. They have directed concerned players to their status page for updates on the situation. Currently, features that require sign-in, such as games, apps, and social activities, are unavailable.
With so many gamers impacted by the outage, social media has been flooded with memes and questions as they wait for updates from Microsoft. Despite the inconvenience, many are finding solace in the fact that they are not alone in facing gaming downtime.
