Madonna's tour delayed due to 'severe health scare' causing her to be 'unresponsive'

Madonna postpones tour after being hospitalized with serious bacterial infection.

Madonna, the iconic pop star known for her influential career in music and fashion, has been forced to postpone her highly-anticipated tour after being hospitalized. The 64-year-old singer was found "unresponsive" in New York on Saturday, June 25, and her manager, Guy Oseary, confirmed that she was suffering from a serious bacterial infection that required her to stay in the intensive care unit for several days.

Oseary took to Instagram to share the news with Madonna's fans, expressing that while she is expected to make a full recovery and her health is improving, she is still under medical care. As a result, all of her commitments, including the tour, will need to be put on hold for the time being.

Madonna's Celebration tour, which was set to commemorate her 40th anniversary in the music industry, was scheduled to kick off in Canada on July 15 and consist of a staggering 84 dates. However, the health scare on Saturday led to her being taken to the ICU and intubated overnight, according to Page Six. Throughout her hospitalization, Madonna's eldest daughter, Lourdes Leon, remained by her side.

The singer's last Instagram post was on June 20, just four days before she was hospitalized. In the post, she shared photos of herself rehearsing for the tour, captioning it "The calm before the storm." On June 23, she also shared a story on Instagram showing her getting her roots bleached. However, the following day, she was rushed to the ICU.

Madonna: The Celebration Tour was set to run from July 15, 2023, to January 30, 2024, and would have been her 12th concert tour. She had plans to visit cities in North America and Europe, with a total of 84 shows anticipated.

Fans of Madonna and music enthusiasts around the world are undoubtedly disappointed by the news of the tour's postponement. However, the priority now is her health and recovery. As her manager stated, a full recovery is expected, and fans can only hope for Madonna's swift return to the stage once she has regained her strength.
