Secret Service Brings Kamala Harris Near Undetected DNC Pipe Bomb in January 6 Security Footage

Security footage shows Secret Service brought Kamala Harris near pipe bomb. Experts and lawmakers express concerns over security failures and intelligence. FBI unable to locate suspect who planted unexploded pipe bombs. Questions raised over how bomb was missed during security sweeps.

The U.S. Capitol complex security footage has revealed that the Secret Service brought Vice President-elect Kamala Harris into a garage at the Democratic National Committee headquarters on January 6, 2021, just a few yards away from where a pipe bomb had been planted the night before by an unidentified suspect. The video footage, obtained and released by Just the News, has raised immediate concerns among experts on presidential security and top lawmakers in Congress regarding how the explosive device was overlooked during security sweeps.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk, chairman of the House Administration oversight subcommittee investigating the Jan. 6 security failures, expressed his confusion over the situation. He pointed out that there was actionable intelligence about an attack on the Capitol, which seemed to be known by most three-letter agencies. However, the chief of police and the Capitol Police were unaware due to an intelligence failure. Loudermilk also questioned why the Secret Service and the White House did not catch the pipe bomb, especially since it was placed in a location where it was meant to be found. He further questioned how it was not discovered before the Vice President-elect was brought into the DNC headquarters.

The recently released footage, made available by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's office and Loudermilk's committee, shows the suspect planting the bomb near the DNC's garage entrance the night before the Capitol riot. Despite its proximity to where Harris arrived, the Secret Service motorcade brought her into the driveway and the building without being aware of the explosive device. It was only around 1 p.m. when a passerby alerted the security detail about the bomb, leading to Harris' evacuation.

The mystery surrounding the two unexploded pipe bombs planted at the DNC and the Republican National Committee deepens as the FBI has been unable to identify and locate the masked suspect even after more than 900 days. Rep. Thomas Massie revealed that the FBI officials informed Congress that corrupted phone data hindered the investigation. Just the News reviewed various angles of security footage collected by the FBI, showing the planting of the bomb, security sweeps, and the arrival of Harris' motorcade.

Charles Marino, a security expert with over 20 years of experience working with the Secret Service, expressed concern over how the pipe bomb was missed during the security screening. He emphasized that agents typically sweep the area before the arrival of the president or vice president. Marino also expressed surprise over the fact that the suspect has not been identified after such extensive efforts by federal authorities to identify Jan. 6 riot suspects.

Rep. Loudermilk stated that his committee is making significant progress in identifying security and intelligence failures related to the Jan. 6 incident and expects to recommend sweeping reforms in the coming weeks. However, he acknowledged that the Capitol is still not significantly safer than before the riot, and there is still much work to be done to ensure the safety of those present.
