Grammy-Winning Singer Tori Kelly Hospitalized: Breaking News
American Idol alum Tori Kelly hospitalized for blood clots.
Tori Kelly, a renowned musician who gained fame through her appearance on American Idol, has reportedly been admitted to the hospital. According to TMZ, the Grammy winner was rushed to the hospital on July 23 after experiencing a medical emergency during a dinner with friends in Los Angeles, California. Sources claim that she is currently receiving treatment for blood clots surrounding her vital organs, and the situation is said to be very serious.
During the dinner, Kelly's heart started beating rapidly, causing her to lose consciousness for a significant period of time. Her friends then carried her outside of the restaurant and arranged for her transportation to Cedars-Sinai Hospital instead of calling an ambulance.
Currently, Kelly is being treated in the ICU, where doctors have discovered blood clots in her legs and lungs. TMZ also reports that she has been in and out of consciousness.
Kelly first gained recognition as a contestant on the ninth season of American Idol, although she did not make it into the top 24 singers. Undeterred, she self-produced and released her debut EP, titled Handmade Songs by Tori Kelly, in 2012.
In the following year, Kelly signed with Capitol Records and released another EP called Foreword. Her debut full album, Unbreakable Smile, was released in 2015, propelling her career to new heights. This success led to her first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2016.
A few years later, Kelly won two Grammy Awards for her second studio album, Hiding Place, released in 2018. She has since continued to create music, releasing two more full albums and her first Christmas album, A Tori Kelly Christmas, in 2020.
In March 2023, Kelly signed with Epic Records and released a new single titled "missin' u." This song serves as the lead single for her upcoming EP, tori, scheduled to be released on July 28, 2023.
While Kelly tends to keep her personal life private, she has been married to professional basketball player André Murillo since 2018.
Parade has reached out to Kelly's team for comment but has not received a response at this time.
