Jon Batiste Wife: Health Updates
Musician Jon Batiste and journalist Suleika Jaouad, who met as kids at band camp, recently got married after 12 years apart. Jaouad is currently battling cancer for the second time.
Jon Batiste, a remarkably talented and versatile musician, has been captivating audiences with his musical prowess since he was just eight years old. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of collaborating with and releasing music alongside icons such as Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder, and Prince. In addition to his impressive musical achievements, Batiste has also been leading the band on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show since 2015, earning him accolades such as the Oscar, Golden Globe, and Grammy awards.
Throughout Batiste's journey, his wife, Suleika Jaouad, has been a constant source of support and love. Jaouad, an Emmy-winning journalist, motivational speaker, and New York Times bestselling author, has stood by Batiste's side through it all.
Their love story began at band camp when they were children, and fate brought them back together years later when Jaouad was undergoing treatment for leukemia. After 12 years apart, they reunited and decided to seal their love in a small ceremony surrounded by their immediate family in February of 2022.
Although Batiste and Jaouad prefer to keep their romance private, they occasionally share adorable photos of each other on social media. In April 2022, Jaouad took to Instagram to congratulate Batiste on his extraordinary achievement of winning five Grammy awards, expressing her pride and admiration for her deeply humble and brilliant husband.
On Batiste's birthday, November 17th, 2022, Jaouad once again demonstrated her love for him by posting a heartwarming picture of the couple, radiating joy and affection.
To celebrate the occasion, Jaouad shared, "We fêted my beloved on his 36th last Saturday with dear friends and a cauldron of red beans and an impromptu jam that went into the wee hours." Clearly, after everything they had been through in the past year, Batiste deserved an entire birthday month of celebration.
Unfortunately, Jaouad is currently facing her second battle with cancer, with the first occurring in her twenties. In her newsletter on December 1st, 2021, she bravely shared the news of her leukemia's return and her plans for chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
