U.S. stocks close higher; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.25%
Tesla, CVS Health, and Qualcomm were the top performers on the S&P 500, while Rtx Corp, JM Smucker Company, and Newell Brands were the worst performers. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the NYSE and Nasdaq. Shares in Rtx Corp, JM Smucker Company, Walgreens Boots Alliance, Intel Corporation, Tenon Medical, Crinetics Pharmaceuticals, and Solowin Holdings either reached 52-week lows or all-time lows. The CBOE Volatility Index was down, while gold futures and crude oil prices fluctuated.

Rtx Corp and JM Smucker Company both reached their 52-week lows, with Rtx Corp falling 7.87% to 76.91 and JM Smucker Company falling 6.98% to 131.70. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc also reached a 5-year low, losing 2.55% and settling at 21.43. On the other hand, Intel Corporation reached its 52-week high, gaining 1.53% and closing at 38.59. Tenon Medical Inc experienced an all-time low, falling 42.71% to 0.14. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals Inc, on the other hand, reached its 52-week high, gaining 63.31% and closing at 26.08. Solowin Holdings Ltd reached an all-time low, losing 33.20% and settling at 3.28.
The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, saw a slight decrease of 0.29% to 13.80.
In the world of commodities trading, gold futures for December delivery saw a small increase of 0.14% or 2.75 to $1,945.45 per troy ounce. Crude oil for delivery in October experienced a decrease of 0.26% or 0.23, reaching $87.28 per barrel. The November Brent oil contract also saw a slight decrease of 0.07% or 0.06, trading at $90.59 per barrel.
