Ryan Tannehill suffers ankle injury, gets carted to locker room during Titans' loss to Ravens in London

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill was seen on crutches after injuring his ankle in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a right ankle injury during the team's loss to the Baltimore Ravens in London. After being hit on back-to-back plays in the third quarter, Tannehill was seen limping but continued to play. However, he eventually had to leave the game in the fourth quarter and was carted to the locker room. This is not the first time Tannehill has dealt with a right ankle injury, as he had his 2022 season cut short due to the same issue.

After the game, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel stated that the team was still evaluating Tannehill's injury. However, Tannehill was seen on crutches in the locker room, indicating that the injury may be significant. Tannehill himself expressed his frustration with the ankle issue, explaining that it was hindering his ability to throw effectively.

"I just tried to tough it out, but I couldn't generate any power in my throws," Tannehill shared. "I attempted to walk it off, but it only got worse. I knew I wouldn't be able to make the throws I needed to. It became clear that I wouldn't be effective on the field if I couldn't even take a step to throw."

An MRI will provide more information about the extent of Tannehill's injury. Prior to leaving the game, he completed 8 of 16 passes for 76 yards and threw one interception. Malik Willis, who replaced Tannehill during the game, completed 4 of 5 passes for 74 yards. If Tannehill is unable to play in future games, Willis is expected to take over as the starting quarterback. However, there is also the possibility that the Titans may give second-round pick Will Levis a chance to showcase his skills.

Overall, Tannehill's injury is a setback for the Titans, as he has been a key player for the team. The extent of the injury and the timeline for his recovery will determine how long he will be sidelined. In the meantime, the Titans will need to rely on their backup quarterbacks to fill the void and maintain their performance on the field.
