Miami Football Game Preview: Week 11 vs Florida State
Florida State wide receiver Travis Coleman has the fourth-best odds to win the Heisman, leading the team with impressive stats.
Travis is currently ranked fourth in the Heisman odds, according to USA Betting. Coleman, who transferred from Michigan State, has been Travis' top target this season. He has 38 catches for 538 yards and nine touchdowns in eight games, as well as 198 yards on 20 punt returns. Although he was unable to play against Pitt last week due to an injury, Head Coach Mike Norvell is hopeful for his return.
Wide receiver Wilson, who stands at 6'7" and weighs 223 pounds, is also uncertain for the Miami game after suffering an injury against Duke. Despite this, both Coleman and Wilson have been practicing this week.
Coleman has had three multi-touchdown games this season, catching three in his FSU debut against LSU and two more at Clemson and Wake Forest. His second touchdown catch at Clemson was in overtime, leading FSU to its first road overtime win in school history. He also joined Peter Warrick as the only player in Florida State history with 100 receiving and 100 punt return yards in the same game.
Benson, the Seminole running back, nearly reached 1,000 yards last season and has 97 carries for 641 yards and eight touchdowns this year. He is known for his powerful running and had 15 carries for 128 yards and two touchdowns against his former head coach, Mario Cristobal, in last year's meeting.
Verse, known for his scary pass-rush, has various moves and polished techniques. He was Pro Football Network's top EDGE prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft and has 4.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss so far this year. His explosive first step has been disrupting offensive linemen's rhythm off the snap, and he is coming off a game against Wake Forest where he notched two quarterback takedowns.
