Steph Curry outduels Poole to help Warriors beat Wizards

Stephen Curry outscored Jordan Poole, who made his return to the Chase Center, as the Golden State Warriors beat the Wizards.

The Golden State Warriors emerged victorious in a thrilling game against the Washington Wizards, beating them 129-118 in a high-scoring match. Stephen Curry was the star of the game, making a season-high eight 3-pointers and scoring a total of 30 points while also providing seven assists. This impressive performance outshone Jordan Poole, who returned to Chase Center for the first time since being traded to the Wizards on draft day.

The game started with Poole making the first basket, and he received a warm welcome from his former teammates and friends at the arena. However, he struggled with his shooting, making only 7 of his 21 attempts and hitting just 3 of 12 three-pointers. On the other hand, Curry also had a slow start but eventually found his rhythm, scoring 11 consecutive points and finishing the game with an outstanding performance.

In addition to Curry's heroics, Jonathan Kuminga and Klay Thompson also made significant contributions to the Warriors' victory. Kuminga scored 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting, while Thompson added 20 points, including four 3-pointers. The Wizards, on the other hand, were led by Corey Kispert and Daniel Gafford, who scored 18 and 15 points, respectively.

Despite the absence of Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors displayed their depth and resilience, with rookies Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis stepping up to fill the void. Podziemski returned to the lineup after sitting out the previous game due to back soreness and made an impact with 10 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Jackson-Davis, another rookie, impressed with 10 points and a season-best 14 rebounds.

Looking ahead, the Wizards will host the Orlando Magic, while the Warriors will face the Portland Trail Blazers in a home-home back-to-back series. The Warriors have had the upper hand in recent meetings with the Trail Blazers, winning the last four games in the series and six in a row at home. With their current form and depth, the Warriors will be aiming to extend their winning streak and continue their dominance in the upcoming games.
