The No. 6 Kentucky Wildcats faced off against the Missouri Tigers in their SEC home opener at Rupp Arena, resulting in a 90-77 victory for the Wildcats. The game started as a shootout, with both teams combining for 26 points in the first 4:03. Despite a lackluster defensive effort from Kentucky, they were able to maintain a lead throughout the game, with Missouri's shooting percentage dropping in the second half. Kentucky struggled with their 3-point shooting, but made up for it with a strong performance at the free-throw line. Freshman guard Rob Dillingham led all scorers with 23 points, followed by senior forward Tre Mitchell with 20 points and freshman guard D.J. Wagner with 16 points. Kentucky's victory was broadcasted nationally on ESPN.
