Iowa State men's basketball team beat second-ranked Houston, out-toughing, out-defending and out-playing them in a 57-53 victory. Cyclones win!
The Iowa State men's basketball team pulled off a major upset by defeating second-ranked Houston in a 57-53 victory at Hilton Coliseum. Despite nearly a foot of snow and howling wind, the Cyclones out-toughed, out-defended, and out-played the Cougars. Freshman Milan Momcilovic hit the game-winning shot, sealing the victory for Iowa State. This win marked the first signature victory of the season for the Cyclones. Tamin Lipsey and Momcilovic led the team in scoring, while Houston struggled with turnovers and shooting percentage. The Cyclones' physicality and resilience were key factors in their victory. The game was also marked by a show of support for the Perry Community, following a recent tragedy at Perry High School. The Cyclones will face Oklahoma State in their next game.
