Former Cardinals Browns Texans Playoff Matchup: 7 Players Leading

Former Arizona Cardinals players are making an impact in the NFL playoffs, with seven players now on the Browns and Texans.

The upcoming NFL playoff game in the wild card round will feature the Cleveland Browns facing off against the Houston Texans. Interestingly, both of these teams have former players who once donned the Arizona Cardinals' jersey during their careers.

In fact, a total of seven players who previously played for the Cardinals are now part of either the active rosters or practice squads of the Browns and the Texans. One such example is Driskel, who spent the majority of the season on Arizona's practice squad before being signed to the Browns' active roster in December. He even started in the regular-season finale for the Browns, showcasing the interconnectedness of the NFL.

Additionally, Murray, who played three seasons for the Cardinals and started 20 games, is currently on Cleveland's practice squad. Boyd, who signed with the Cardinals last offseason and played four games before being released, has also made his way to the Texans, where he played two games.

Jones, another former Cardinal, spent three seasons with Arizona after being drafted in the third round in 2020. He was later traded to the Texans, where he appeared in 13 games and started three as a backup tackle. Sanders, who was drafted by the Cardinals in the third round in 2022 and had three sacks as a rookie, was released before playing a game and subsequently signed by the Texans, where he appeared in seven games and had seven total tackles.

Thomas, who is currently on injured reserve, was part of the Cardinals' offseason roster in 2018 and was cut before the season without ever playing a game for them. Lawrence, who is on the Texans' practice squad, was drafted in the fourth round by the Cardinals in 2020 and played three seasons in Arizona before being cut this year.
