The commemorative events included the unveiling of a new statue at the Baseball Hall of Fame and the release of a new stamp by the U.S. Postal Service featuring Aaron in his Atlanta Braves uniform.
Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred was on hand in Atlanta to pay tribute to Aaron, announcing a $100,000 endowment for a scholarship at Tuskegee University, a historically Black university in Aaron's home state of Alabama. Manfred highlighted the impact of the Henry Louis Aaron Fund, established by the Braves after Aaron's passing in 2021, and the Chasing the Dream Foundation, founded by Aaron and his wife Billye, in promoting diversity in baseball and supporting educational opportunities.
