Marvel Studios taps Ralph Ineson to play Galactus in Fantastic Four, joining John Malkovich. Full cast includes Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby.
Marvel Studios has officially cast English genre actor Ralph Ineson as Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, in the upcoming Fantastic Four film. This casting news comes hot on the heels of John Malkovich's recent addition to the star-studded cast.
For those unfamiliar with the character, Galactus is a massive cosmic entity in the Marvel Universe who roams the galaxies in search of planets to satiate his insatiable hunger. Fans may remember Galactus from his appearance in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, where he was depicted as a fearsome CGI-generated cosmic cloud.
The main cast of the Fantastic Four film was announced earlier this year, with Pedro Pascal taking on the role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. Paul Walter Hauser has also recently joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
Directed by Matt Shakman of WandaVision fame, the film boasts a screenplay penned by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer, with Peter Cameron contributing to the script as well.
Ineson, known for his roles in The First Omen and The Creator, is set to bring his talents to the role of Galactus. Currently working on Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, Ineson's past credits include Game of Thrones and The Witch. This exciting casting news has fans eagerly anticipating the epic showdown that awaits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
