Ragin' Cajuns and 5 Other Louisiana Schools Qualify for 2024 NCAA Baseball Regionals

Louisiana had a standout year in college baseball, with a total of six teams from the Bayou State making it to the 2024 NCAA Regionals. Despite a tough showing in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, the Ragin' Cajuns secured a spot in the Bryan-College Station Regional to face off against the Texas Longhorns. Meanwhile, the LSU Tigers made an impressive run in the SEC Tournament, ultimately falling to Tennessee in the Championship Game but earning a spot in the field of 64.
The Tigers will have to start their journey to defend their national championship on the road in the Chapel Hill Regional, where they will face Wofford. Other Louisiana schools such as Tulane, Nicholls, and Grambling also secured spots in the NCAA postseason tournament after winning their respective conference tournaments. Additionally, Louisiana Tech claimed the regular season Conference USA championship.
In total, four Sun Belt Conference schools, including UL, Southern Miss, Coastal Carolina, and James Madison, made it to Regionals. Regional play is set to begin on May 31, with Super Regionals following the next weekend. The College World Series is scheduled for June 14-24 in Omaha, Nebraska.
