Drew's agent, Calvin Andrews, confirmed to ESPN that the former basketball player tragically lost his life in a car accident in Portland, Oregon, on May 30. Survived by his partner Angela and their three children, Drew leaves behind a lasting impact on the basketball world.

Drew's basketball journey began at UCLA, where he played for the UCLA Bruins men's basketball program for two years before transferring to the University of New Mexico. During his time with the New Mexico Lobos men's basketball team, Drew showcased his talent by averaging double-double performances of at least 13 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Despite not being selected in the 2012 NBA draft, Drew enjoyed a successful professional basketball career. He participated in the Dallas Mavericks Summer League and went on to play in various international leagues and the NBA G League, showcasing his skills in countries like France, Italy, Turkey, Serbia, Lithuania, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, and Poland. Drew also had a brief stint with the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2014-15 NBA season, appearing in nine games.

Continuing his professional basketball journey for nearly a decade, Drew earned recognition as an All-Star in France in 2015 before retiring in 2023. His dedication to the sport and his impressive performances as a G League star will be remembered by fans and fellow players alike.
